Take A Hike Soap repels all kinds of nasty insects like mosquitoes, gnats, ticks, chiggers, and no-see-ums! It is the perfect companion for all of your outdoor activities as it offers hours of protection, not to mention it is just fun to look at.
The key ingredient is Andiroba Oil* from the Brazilian Rain Forest, where locals harvest it as a natural bug repellent. It leaves a silky barrier on the skin that bugs hate. Then we infused this bar with bacteria-fighting Tamanu Oil, moisturizing Shea Butter, and skin protecting Hazelnut and Kukui Oils, then topped it off with key bug-blasting 100% pure essential oils of eucalyptus, lemon eucalyptus (citronella-smell), geranium, and cornmint. This is a strong, but nicely-scented bar, and the protection lasts for hours after the scent leaves your skin.
*Andiroba Oil is a bitter oil that contains limonoids and gedunin, natural chemicals that are anti-inflammatory, pain relieving, and produce pest-controlling properties and antimalarial effects equal to that of quinine.
NOTE: If you are going to use sun block throughout the day, you will need to use either the Take A Hike Lotion Bar over the sun block or choose our Take A Hike Body Butter that contains natural sun protection.
